The foundation of Talavera de la Reina was officially inaugurated on 19th. January 1900. As we know, Mother Cointa had been prepared for her mission as educator in Tudela. In Talavera, she taught Mathematics, Reading, History and Geography. She was able to combine her work as teacher with the office of community Bursar. This allowed her to deal with persons who worked in the house. Although the prescribed ten years after Profession had not elapsed, the firmness of Sister Cointa's vocation and her aptitude for teaching led the Mother Prioress and community to decide, with previous permission from Rome, to grant her the status of "Mother"; this took place in September 1904.

Mother Cointa was nominated Prefect of the school in 1906 which made her responsible for everything relating to the boarders and day girls. Her duties covered not only the academic but also the pastoral and disciplinary aspects of the school. She was elected Prioress for the first time in 1915. Her idea of justice and prudence led her to renounce being Prioress in 1921 when re-elected for the third time, since she considered that the same person should not occupy the same charge indefinitely.

The virtues which characterised Mother Cointa, such as fortitude and justice, led the new Prioress to nominate Mother Cointa as sub-Prioress. In the elections of 1925 for the government of the house, she was again nominated Prioress, and appointed Mother Calixta Muruzabal as sub-Prioress and Novice Mistress. From then on, the two offices alternated between Mother Calixta and Mother Cointa. The period coincided with the promulgation of the Decree of Union of the houses of the Company of Mary. Mother Cointa and the community of Talavera were against the Union.
